Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is a process
of connecting the various elements of our lives so that they make sense. Many
people have unresolved conflicts that they carry around all their lives, which
constrict their ability to make healthy decisions. They make the same choices
over and over, and don't feel fulfilled. It may even seem as if life is just
frustrating, and happens to them, instead of the other way around. It may be
difficult to feel fully expressed, or be able to say what's important to those
people that matter. Most people who enter psychotherapy generally function
fairly well; they realize, however, that something is missing in their lives
and they can't figure out what it is.
The initial consultation
helps determine what problems exist, and whether psychotherapy is an appropriate
treatment. If so, then the process is explained.
